| MobileTech Expo Wrap Up -- By Tommy Clayton | ||
(Corpus Christi,Tx.) The 2011 Mobile Tech Expo was a huge success for attendees and exhibitors alike. Total show attendance was over two thousand with one hundred fifteen exhibit booths. This MTE had the largest number of first time exhibitors in the history of the show.
Over thirty education sessions were attended by over four hundred attendees. Seven of those sessions were handled by the NAPDRT. Attendance at those sessions was incredible to say the least, with the room having to be expanded several times. Most of the major PDR tool companies were in attendance as were several PDR brokers. The Dent Olympics competition was a highlight of the show. Fifty dents were made for this competition. NAPDRT had a prominent display directly in front of the Dent Olympics competition. Many PDR techs stopped by and joined or renewed their memberships. Discussions during the NAPDRT round table focused on the number of splinter PDR broker companies and their effect on our industry. Vale Training Solutions was on hand to certify PDR technicians with their surface scanner. Eleven technicians were certified during the show. This was the first time Vale has run the certification program outside of their Arlington, Texas facility. Although PDR makes up a large portion of the show there were many other trades represented including: Detailing, Paint perfecting and repair, Interior repair, and several others. Preparations are already underway for the 2012 Mobile Tech Expo. |
